Abstract Developing critical thinking skills is considered one of the important missions of the educational system. The purpose of this study was to identify the factors associated with critical thinking of students in order to identify existing gaps and provide practical solutions for improving these skills. In the present study, cognitive, metacognitive and social constructivist theories were used as a theoretical framework. The research method is survey and its statistical society includes students of all academic levels at Allameh Tabataba'i University, School of Social Sciences. The stratified sampling method was adopted. To collect information, a self-made questionnaire and the California Critical Thinking Test Form B have been used. Data were analyzed using the SPSS software, Pearson correlation coefficient, independent samples t-test and ANOVA. The findings show that there is not a significant relationship between the level of socioeconomic status and academic performance of students and their critical thinking. But there is a significant relationship between the variables: gender, year of entering university, educational level and marital status of students with their critical thinking. Comparison of Life Satisfaction, General Health and Functionality of Elderly Residents in Public and Private Nursing Homes in Tehran Akbar Sharifian[1] , Hossein Rezai[2] Received: 26/5/2017 Accepted: 20/2/2018 Abstract The purpose of this study is to compare the elderly people in public and private nursing homes of Tehran in terms of life satisfaction, functionality and general health. The population in this study are the elderly residents of public and private nursing homes in Tehran. Through purposive sampling, 225 of the residents were selected to be studied. Results showed that the residents of public nursing homes had higher health, life satisfaction and functionality than the residents of private nursing homes. Based on the results, it can be inferred that attention to mere biological and medical needs of the elderly citizens cannot create favorable conditions for them and increase their life expectancy. Attention to biomedical and physiological needs of elderly individuals in addition to their psychological and social needs can help to improve their life conditions at nursing homes. Phenomenology of Criminal Grounds in Women Zahra Mirhosseini[1] Received: 8/10/2017 Accepted: 30/12/2017 Abstract The purpose of this research study is to identify and understand risk factors in female offenders’ lives. This research is based on the phenomenological method. For this purpose, in-depth qualitative interviews have been conducted with 24 women with criminal sentences and imprisonment records. The results show that most of the women interviewed had experienced various forms of violence and harassment during their lives, and were often found either homeless or were from inefficient and disrupted families whose parents or first-degree relatives had a history of convictions and imprisonment or drug addiction. Also, some of these women had used drugs when they committed the crimes. In addition to the above, the socioeconomic status of women, type of occupation, family disorders, the lifestyle of women, are among the risk factors that are effective in the context of life for female offenders. However, the results of this study are not generalized in any way because of the small sample size. Keywords: Female Offenders, Crime, Prison, Phenomenology [1]. Abstract Iran has experienced many changes in the recent decades and an increasing divorce rate is among these changes. The end of married life is the beginning of a process that is fraught with many problems. This study examines socio-economic security and social capital among divorced women and their relationship. For this purpose, a survey method was used and 200 divorced women were randomly selected. Findings show that women's economic insecurity is only slightly more than their social insecurity. This indicates the importance of social protection for divorced women, because despite the importance of economy and livelihood, women’s social concerns are approximately the same level. Average levels of trust in relatives are very low and are close to thin trust. It can be said that the area of thick trust has been narrowed for divorced women. Correlation coefficient and multiple regression show that there is relationship between socio-economic security and social capital. Among the social capital indicators, social trust in economic security model and social relationships in the model of social security are significant factors. Thirty percent of economic security and 45% of social security changes can be explained by the running model. Keywords: Women, Divorce, Social Security, Economic Security, Social Capital

Professional Values of Social Work and its Relationship with the Organizational Culture in Hospitals from the Viewpoint of Medical Social Workers Sareh Abri[1] , Mohammad Zahedi Asl[2] , Maliheh Shiani[3], Amirmahmood Harirchi[4] Received: 11/9/2017 Accepted: 8/1/2018 Abstract This research was conducted with the aim of determining the relationship between social work professional values and organizational culture of hospitals using a survey-descriptive-correlational research method. The statistical population of this study includes all medical social workers and the statistical sample includes social workers who had a bachelor's or higher degree in social work with more than 5 years of work experience in the hospital and their selection has been through total enumeration. The Social Work professional Values quastionnaire (Morley D. Glicken professional values model) and organizational culture assessment instrument (Cameron and Quinn model) were used to collect the required information. Both questionnaires were evaluated for their reliability and validity and their SPSS software was used to process and analyze the data using the Pearson correlation coefficient test. The results show that there is a direct relationship and a relatively strong correlation between “Dignity and worth of the person”, “integrity” and “Competence” values and organizational culture. The correlation between the value of “services” and hospital organizational culture is moderate. Between the value of “justice” and the hospital organizational culture, the correlation is relatively weak, and there is an inverted and very weak relationship between the value of “importance of human relationships” and hospital organizational culture. Generally, the correlation coefficient between the professional values of social work and organizational culture of hospitals indicates a direct relationship and a relatively strong correlation between these two variables. The results emphasize the equivalence of the professional values of social work and the organizational culture of hospitals. Therefore, policy-making in the field of healthcare is recommended in order to strengthen these values to improve the quality of social services in hospitalsis.
