The Relationship between Leisure and Social Happiness in the City of Isfahan Reyhaneh Tamizifar[1] , Khayyam Azizimehr[2] Received: 30/01/2016 Accepted: 22/05/2017 Abstract Leisure refers to the free time when an individual is not working and can use it to their liking. The way one spends their free time has a great influence on different aspects of their life and can bring about important social outcomes, one of which is social happiness whose rate can fluctuate depending on the way of spending free time. This paper deals with the relationship between leisure and happiness among the citizens of Isfahan. Having adopting the method proposed by Sakkthivel (2012), leisure was measured in its four dimensions including the individualistic-active dimension, the individualistic-passive dimension, the collective-active dimension and the collective-passive dimension. According to Lu and Argyle (1993), it appears that the impact of the collective-active dimension of leisure on happiness is more prominent. Happiness was measured using the Oxford Happiness Standard Questionnaire. This research was conducted through surveys and the sample size is 1200 citizens of Isfahan who were selected through systematic random sampling. The results show that there is a statistically significant relationship between leisure and happiness and also between the rate of leisure satisfaction and happiness; In other words, by increasing the rate of leisure satisfaction the rate of happiness increases. Another conclusion is that active leisure has a stronger correlation with happiness compared to passive leisure. Understanding the Lived Experiences of People Sleeping Rough in Tehran Akbar Bakhshinia[1] , Habib Aghabakhshi[2] , Saeed Zokaei[3] Received: 3/10/2018 Accepted: 27/1/2019 Abstract In the recent two decades, a special kind of homelessness which is named ”rough sleeping” has appeared and paid attention to in Iran, especially in the great city of Tehran. Meanwhile, sleeping rough is seen as a social concern and could be transformed into social harm. It is a sign and results in other social concerns and harms in society. The aim of this study was to understand the lived experiences of rough sleeping individuals, discover and bring out theory within these experiences, and draw the related paradigm, including conditions (structure), action (process), and outcomes. The research is of qualitative type and follows the Grounded Theory (GT) method. Data were collected through deep and semi structured interviews with people sleeping rough on the surface of Tehran city, during the year 2016-2017. The sampling method was purposeful and with a sample size of 34 individuals, theoretical saturation was achieved. Data were coded and analyzed through phases of open, axial and selective coding suggested by "Strauss and Corbin".The disconnection-dependency limbo” appeared as axial category. This term means disconnection of the individual from the society, family and support sources and being dependent on the abnormal group of people sleeping rough for compensating for their losses and deprivations. The people sleeping rough confront this phenomenon by taking on survival, continuation and going-out strategies and face the consequences. Results indicate that rough sleeping is shaped in the context of structural and macro factors interacting with individual factors. A solution is to change the social conditions of these persons, and the rough sleeping person can be an active agent in this process. Abstract
The aim of this study is to investigate the presence of women in the neighborhood-oriented projects of Tehran municipality and its impact on the level of promotion of their psycho-social empowerment. The theoretical framework of the research is based on the Theories of radical feminism, symbolic interaction and the theory of Bourdieu and Habermas. In order to examine the research questions, 163 women who participated in these projects with 164 women who did not participate in these projects were studied and compared regarding their psycho-social empowerment. Findings showed that more than 70 percent of women in the study group participated in the projects in large rate and more than 60% highly rated the success of project implementation. Findings showed that there is a significant difference between psycho-social empowerment between intervention and comparison groups at 99% confidence interval level. Therefore, the results indicated that the implementation of these projects has been effective in promoting women’s psycho-social empowerment, which shows the necessity of continuation of these projects at a wider level in Tehran and other cities.

Professional Values of Social Work and its Relationship with the Organizational Culture in Hospitals from the Viewpoint of Medical Social Workers Sareh Abri[1] , Mohammad Zahedi Asl[2] , Maliheh Shiani[3], Amirmahmood Harirchi[4] Received: 11/9/2017 Accepted: 8/1/2018 Abstract This research was conducted with the aim of determining the relationship between social work professional values and organizational culture of hospitals using a survey-descriptive-correlational research method. The statistical population of this study includes all medical social workers and the statistical sample includes social workers who had a bachelor's or higher degree in social work with more than 5 years of work experience in the hospital and their selection has been through total enumeration. The Social Work professional Values quastionnaire (Morley D. Glicken professional values model) and organizational culture assessment instrument (Cameron and Quinn model) were used to collect the required information. Both questionnaires were evaluated for their reliability and validity and their SPSS software was used to process and analyze the data using the Pearson correlation coefficient test. The results show that there is a direct relationship and a relatively strong correlation between “Dignity and worth of the person”, “integrity” and “Competence” values and organizational culture. The correlation between the value of “services” and hospital organizational culture is moderate. Between the value of “justice” and the hospital organizational culture, the correlation is relatively weak, and there is an inverted and very weak relationship between the value of “importance of human relationships” and hospital organizational culture. Generally, the correlation coefficient between the professional values of social work and organizational culture of hospitals indicates a direct relationship and a relatively strong correlation between these two variables. The results emphasize the equivalence of the professional values of social work and the organizational culture of hospitals. Therefore, policy-making in the field of healthcare is recommended in order to strengthen these values to improve the quality of social services in hospitalsis. The Impact of Family Factors on Girls' Social Empowerment Mohammad Zahedi Asl[1] , Mahboobeh Tavakoli[2] Accepted: Received: 24/9/2017 Abstract In this study, we aimed to investigate effective family factors on girls’ social empowerment. For this aim, 192 admitted girls to the Omid-E-Mehr institution were selected by random sampling. The theoretical framework of the current study included the Resource Theory of Blood and Wolf, Empowerment Theory of Sara Lange and the family management theory of Anthony Giddens. The data were collected through a standard questionnaire and was analyzed by SPSS using Pearson and Spearman correlation coefficients. Descriptive results showed that 82 percent of participants are at an average level in social empowerment. Hypothesis testing indicated that there is a significant relationship between the patterns of household management, mothers’ views of gender-based roles and girls’ social empowerment. While there is no significant correlation between the social status of the father and the girls’ social empowerment. Regarding the significant correlation between “Mothers' views toward Gender Roles” and “Family Management Patterns” variables, a multiple regression analysis was used simultaneously with a dependent variable. The results of this study showed that the effect of the theoretical model on the dependent variable was significant. So views of mothers toward gender roles could explain more than 30% of the variance in girls’ social empowerment. It should be noted that the variable of “the family management model” did not have a significant effect. The results show that socio-cultural policies should emphasize the development and expansion of educational and cultural programs in order to improve the influence of the role of mothers on the girls’ social empowerment. Abstract
The present study is intended to investigate and identify the relationhip between social health and marital life satisfaction among veterans of war with a disability of over 25 percent in Sar-Poul-Zehab and Ghasr-e Shirin cities of Kermanshah. This study sought to answer this question: Is there a significant relationship between social health and marital life satisfaction? The controlling variables were percentage of disability, time of accurance of disability, and duration of disability. this research is survey-based and explanatory. Using the Cochran formula, the research sample was determined 235 veterans of war with a disability of over 25 percent. The reliability of the assessment tool was affirmed though formal methods and its validity using the Cronbach alpha. Finally, the data were collected through questionnaires along with interviews and were analyzed using the SPSS software, a t-test and the Pearson test. The findings showed a significant relationship between social health and marital life satisfaction among the war veterans. There was no significant relationship between the percentage of disability and marital life satisfaction. However, there was a significant relationship between time of ocurrance of disability, marriage duration, and
marital life satisfaction. The innovation in this study, was the evaluation and confirmation of the relationship between macro and micro levels. It was concluded that higher social health would result in more satisfaction in the marital lives of war veterans with disabilites. Furthermore, marital life satisfaction among these veterans declined with a longer duration of married life. However, the percentage of their disability did not influence their marital life satisfaction.

The present study tries to identify the concept of family in the lived experiences of divorced applicants, using a qualitative method of Foundation data. The aim of this study was to gain an understanding of the life experience of divorce applicants and to discover and extract models from these experiences and to map the relevant paradigms, including the interrelationships between conditions (structure), action (process), and consequences. Data obtained through in-depth and semi-structured interviews with divorce applicants of the Karaj Family Court. The study reached theoretical saturation through the purposive sampling method with a sample size of 9 spouses (n = 18). The data were analyzed through the Strauss & Corbin method in three stages of open, axial and selective coding. The findings show that the causal conditions are the family ideological and structural tyans formation, the family evolution, the cultural problems, and economic problems. The basis conditions include family disorder, the lack of the state interactions, having the tool interaction and neglect to the religion outcome dimension. Intervention conditions are composed of the lack of life skill, the incorrect culture of the modern technology use and the lack of the separation of the family public and private scope. The consequences are of three main categories: the inevitability of divorce, the consequences of divorce, and the loss of family support. The results of the research showed that the phenomenon or category of the family concept in the living experience of divorce applicants is the unbalanced development of the family. As a result, unbalanced family development is largely eliminated by life skills training and social support.

The main purpose of this paper is the conception of lived experienced of social exclusion among Ilamian rural poor people. The method used is qualitative research by grounded theory approach. Each village that has sever poverty index, was selected. Our study is based on information gathered from 35 unstructured interview and focus group in seven district of Ilam. By this 35 unstructured Interview and 7 focus group theoretical saturation was occurred. "Inequality and social exclusion" was selected as central category. Casual conditions were congregational poverty, lack of proficiency, unemployment, diverse, widowhood, gender discrimination, infertility, and social inequality, lack of social ties, migration, and disability. Some strategies are creation of minority group, conformity, migration, self- impoverishment and social dispute. Some consequences were pessimism, distrust, lack of partnership, apathetic, raise of social deviance, scuff of social ties, depression of agriculture and free – range economy and finally persistence of poverty, inequality and social exclusion.

While earthquake is described objectively in scientific texts, it gets its meaning from a social context, and is understood in continuity of historical experience among people. Sarpol-e-Zahab earthquake interrupts everyday life of its habitats, and at the same time carries on a historical path. In-depth interviews with narrators of the disaster indicate that social history of the place (existence of different religions, war, enslavement, chemical bombing, civil wars, genocide, poverty, porterage (Koolbari), executions and political struggles) plays an important role in understanding a natural disaster. Experiencing an earthquake is integrated in individual and collective identities, and connects to other elements of collective memories. Epistemic system organizes the experience of this earthquake and determines the agency toward it. The results show that the common concern of the narrators includes fear of betrayal, marginalization and being forgotten. They perceive the disaster to be humanistic and their attachment to the place is reduced. Therefore it seems vital to prepare necessary requirements for creating collective identities and collective narratives and to help them to be heard and recognized by each other and to establish meaningful relationship between themselves.

Domestic violence can cause negative consequences for women’s mental and physical health. To plan a proper program to prevent and control this social issue, we need to know the nature of domestic violence and cultural themes that led to it. In this research information has been gathered through interviewing with battered women. Findings then got analyzed by thematic analysis method. As a result, main themes and sub themes got emerged. 31 women who had experience of domestic violence participated in this research and they have been chosen by purposeful sampling method. Women who suffered from domestic violence mentioned four characteristics for it. According to what they explained, domestic violence followed a cycle of specific phases and its severity increased gradually as marriage goes forward. Also, it is usually unavoidable for them and different types of violence are combined. Research findings also showed that there are two main cultural themes for violence against women; Patriarchy and inappropriate social attitudes. As a main theme patriarchy contains three sub themes of sexual socialization, depriving women from making decisions for their lives and internalizing oppression. Inappropriate attitude theme includes three sub themes. They are considering divorce as a social taboo, domestic violence as a private issue and tolerating domestic violence in any cost.

This study aimed at investigating the lived experiences of stability factors in the addiction quitting. This study used a descriptive phenomenological research approach to collect and analyze data. 12 participants who had already experienced for more than 6 years addiction quitting were selected using purposive sampling method. The participants attended in-depth interviews until data saturation occurred. Data analysis revealed 3 themes and 14 subthemes for the phenomenon, including starting and launching factors of persistence in addiction quitting with sub-themes: physical and mental tiredness, perception of the end of the line, perception of the threat of substance abuse and turn on negative will. The theme of helper and mediators factors of persistence in addiction quitting with sub-themes: social protection and economic stability, family support and acceptance, utilization of other auxiliary resources, and satisfying relationships. The theme of basic and persistent factors of persistence in addiction quitting with sub-themes were: participation and continuity in the group of allies of NA, control of craving and fear of return, a tendency towards spirituality, meaning, the growth of self-knowledge and introspection, and the distinction between the genuine abandonment and the non-genuine addiction quitting. The findings of this research expounded the past literature on the effective treatment of addiction and relapse preventing.

Along with population aging the gerontological social work, as a specialist area of social work practice, has become significant for research and policy. Well-being and life satisfaction among elderly are important and key issue in the gerontological social work. This article aims to assess the life satisfaction of the elderly and its related factors. The data were collected by a survey among 600 elderly aged 60 and over in the 22 districts of Tehran, who selected through a multistage probability sampling. The mean age of the elderly was 70 years old, 17% of the elderly were illiterate, and 16% of them lived alone. The results indicate a decrease in life satisfaction in the elderly with age. The results of the multivariate analysis revealed that health status, social support, age, employment status, education, and SES had a significant effect on life satisfaction of elderly people and explained 37% of variance in life satisfaction of elderly people. Hence, poor health statuses, lack of social support and poor financial resources have the greatest impact on the satisfaction of the elderly. Social protection of the family and government support and welfare programs can play an important role in increasing the happiness and life satisfaction in old age.

One of the important issues facing Tehrani families is the protection of the elderly. Future demographic, family, economic, and cultural changes will add to those more complex dimensions. In this study, we seek to provide strategies to support the elderly and their families.The method of this research is a combination. In the first part of the work, through the systematic review of the aging research and statistical forecasts, the aging support scenarios are extracted and in the second part the SWOT analysis model is used to provide strategies based on each scenario. Proponents of family support for aging are "socio-cultural status" and "resources at their disposal". From the combination of these two proponents, four possible scenarios are extracted. The strategies extracted for these four scenarios were outlined in three main areas; Caregiver Support Strategies, Elderly Support Strategies, Aging Costing Strategies. Alongside these three areas, strategies have been put forward to support the role of NGOs and the integrated information system of aging.

One of the fundamental values of the social work profession is social justice and special attention to vulnerable people and groups, especially children, in difficult conditions. The aim of the present study was to identify problems of children of fathers involved in substance abuse, in order to reduce the problems of these children has been addressed. The present study employed phenomenology, a qualitative research method. The population consisted of children of substance abusing fathers. The study was conducted to use a purposive sampling refined by a theoretical sampling of 28 children who participated in the study. Data were collected through in-depth semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions. Seven categories of children’s problems were found in the FGD and in-depth interviews. These categories included: negative attitude toward oneself, parental support disorder, accept the role of the misfortune hero, violence and maltreatment, the drama of chaos, family routine/ disorganization, exclusion and isolation. The findings of this study indicated that the quality of parental – child relationship and between parents are not satisfied. Domestic violence is one of the obvious signs of family problems and children are deprived of resilience protective factors.

This research was written with the aim of recognizing different dimensions of conflict in social interactions and presenting strategies to increase its management ability by using Quranic verses as a guidebook for human beings. Content analysis method was used. Step-by-step explanation of conflict in Quranic verses, Quranic explanation of conflict management styles, and presentation of Quranic strategies for resolving communication conflicts are one of the achievements of the present study. The conclusion is that the Holy Quran accepts the issue of conflict in relationships and considers it as a natural and inevitable result of the inherent differences of human. In the verses of the Quran, four types of conflict have been considered. And the five styles of conflict management are well identifiable. The results showed that the Holy Quran increases the ability to repel and control it, which is presented in the individual dimension: truth-seeking and truthfulness, self-awareness, self-healing, and rationalism; moreover, to resolve conflicts by focusing on the interpersonal dimension of the issue; therefore, the strategies used in Quran are: negotiation, mediation, and arbitration. Proper use of these strategies can transform conflict from a destructive and harmful event to an opportunity to benefit from interpersonal opinions and differences.

This study aims to provide a qualitative study of the phenomenon of high-risk behaviors among adolescents and young people in order to provide a clear understanding of the reasons and grounds for its spread. The findings consist of 48 conceptual codes and 11 main categories including: family context, loneliness, traumatic environmental conditions, economic challenge and desire for pleasure as causal conditions, disruption of inter-family relationships, feelings of injustice and institutional dysfunction as contextual and effective conditions. The media, misconceptions, and greed are categorized as intervening. The main phenomenon of the research is named according to the categories formed as "high-risk behaviors of the product of social disorganization". Thus, social disorganization has been identified as the most important component of the formation of high-risk behaviors among adolescents and young people.

Humiliation as social, multifaceted, dynamic, and relational affects the individual social relationships and interactions. The extent and extent of these changes in the humiliating person is different in relation to his position and the subject of contempt. The present study aimed to investigate the experience of Humiliation in women with HIV/AIDS. Regarding the low status of women in the investigated groups and the hot stigma associated, this study is a step towards awareness of a multifaceted and less well-known social phenomenon. The research methodology used qualitative and research community of women with HIV/AIDS in Tehran province. Among the community, three clubs were positive and from among the clubs, 21 were available with the maximum variety, informed consent and ethics of confidentiality. The time of collecting the information in winter and spring of 2017-2018, the instrument of compilation was semi-structured interview and The method of information analysis has been "thematic analysis." The most important issues are "Humiliation for non-existentialism", "humiliation caused by a lack of value", "spiral of femininity", "AIDS and humiliation", "fear of Humiliation" and "acceptance of humiliation". Based on the findings, it can be said that HIV/AIDS in the cross-section with the sexes is an addictive and inferiority to the affected women. This situation is at the heart of the lives of affected women and affects their everyday experiences.

This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the moderators and Intensifiers of marital conflicts resulting from burns. The method of conducting this research is qualitative content analysis, and the data collection technique is in-depth interview. In this research, the sampling method was purposeful Thematic analysis technique was used to analyze the data. The study population of this research consists of 16 married people who suffered burns in the second half of 2020 and 2021, and 8 of their spouses who consented to the interview. Then four social workers working in the hospital were interviewed. The moderate findings of the research include three main themes including: There are receptive attitudinal strategies, healing behavioral strategies and positive social support network strategy, and 9 sub-themes and 32 concepts. On the other hand, the Intensifiers findings include 5 main themes including involvement in negative emotions, overt and hidden rejection, traumatic treatment process, financial difficulties of treatment and life and maladaptive internalization of social rejection experience, and 11 sub-themes and 35 concepts.

Most psychologists believe that happiness is to have too much of pleasant emotions and too less of unpleasant ones, but according to Aristotle, humans are happy if they have the emotions that they want to have, even if those emotions are unpleasant. With the purpose of examining this theory of Aristotle, the present study tested the hypothesis that the discrepancy between the emotions that an individual has and the emotions that he wants to have, has a positive correlation with depression and a negative correlation with well-being. In a correlational design, a call for participation in this study was sent to 30,000 subscribers of the Hamrahe Avval and Irancell in Tehran, and 1410 (564 men) people with an average age of 26 years old participated in the study. The research tools were a researcher-made questionnaire for measuring desired and experienced emotions, the Center of Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale, and the Satisfaction with Life Scale. Correlation and regression analyses showed that the absolute discrepancy between desired and experienced emotions (which showed that how much each participant has experienced his/her desired emotions) can predict more depression and less well-being, even in participants that experienced more pleasant and less unpleasant emotions than they desired, and even after statistically controlling experienced emotions. Therefore, happiness is not just the pleasant emotions, but any emotion, if desired, can increase our happiness.

The present study focuses on the living experience of domestic workers. The research methodology is of qualitative type using narrative analysis method. The study population were female domestic workers in Tehran and through purposeful sampling, 15 persons of the study population were selected. Deep interview technique has been used to collect data. To analyze the data, the theoretical coding method has been used. The findings of this study show that the main theme of women turning to homework is "subordinate citizen" and the common denominator of women's life experience of doing housework is the experience of social inequality. In addition to getting aware of their class gap with the employer, deprived of social protection floor is a barrier to their job mobility. Domestic workers acknowledge the inferiority of domestic work and avoid social integration, so they try to hide their jobs for the fear of social exclusion. On the other hand, from an employer's point of view, doing housework is seen as an inherent responsibility of a woman. Domestic workers, due to their unique working conditions need to receive integrated support. Moreover, the right of domestic workers to maintain human dignity and health conditions must be considered in law and the rules.

Social work as a helping profession has defined its position and roles for many years at the individual, group and community levels and for different target groups in accordance with the needs of its audience and has addressed its mission in various fields. One of the target groups of social work is the employees working in industries who form a cultural and social community of their own and who have injuries and need related assistance. The aim of the current research is to know the role of social work in the field of industry. This research is a qualitative study in several industrial companies, which was conducted by social workers with more than three years of experience in the industry and with the criterion of data saturation with ten people with opinions and related to the topic in a targeted manner and with semi-structured interviews. The data have been explained by thematic analysis method. The results showed that all participants emphasized the importance and role of industrial social work and its necessity. The three themes analyzed are: industrial professionalism, holistic support, and organizational monitoring. The result of this research can be effective in explaining social work services in policies in the field of employee welfare in industrial companies.
